Environmental clearance pending for Gurugam WtE project

The 100 MW WtE plant in Gurugam, Haryana, has not yet received an environmental clearance from the Ministry of Environment, the Hindustan Times reports. As ecoprog reported earlier, the plant will cost around INR 430 crores and is expected to be operational in August 2019. Furthermore, it has been reported that 2,50,00,000 tonnes of untreated waste have been dumped on the site, which is polluting both ground and groundwater.
