Exide Industries to open battery recycling plant in Haldia

Indian lead-acid storage battery and power storage device manufacturer, Exide Industries Ltd. is planning to build a battery recycling facility in Haldia, West Bengal. The plant, which will be equipped with European technology, will have a monthly processing capacity of 15,000 tonnes and produce nickel-cadmium and lead-acid batteries in collaboration with Japanese Furukawa Electric Co. The construction is expected to be completed within 12 to 18 months, as reported by Global Recycling 3/2018, p.12.
