Maharashtra to auction 200 MW of bagasse-fired CHP projects

Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) has approved plans of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited’s (MSEDCL) to procure 200 MW of bagasse-fired CHP projects through competitive bidding. As reported by Mercom India, the ceiling price is INR 4 per kWh. Successful bidders will be awarded power purchase agreements (PPA) with a contract period of 20 years. Projects will be commissioned within 18 months after signing the PPA.
