Anticipating that no bidders are likely to qualify for setting up of the solid waste management facility at Bainguinim, the Goa Waste Management Corporation (GWMC) may relax the criteria for bidders and float a fresh tender, reports The Times of India.
The Goa Waste Management Minister, Mr Michael Lobo has reportedly said authorities will wait till November 9 to see how many bidders qualify for the bids, and then float a fresh tender. Mr Lobo feels that as per Central Public Works Department (CPWD) guidelines, on the basis of which the current tender was released, nobody will qualify. Mr Lobo said that they will revise the capacity of daily waste treatment and its turnover capacity.
Four companies participated in the pre-bid meeting for the solid waste management plant at Bainguinim. Companies that attended the meeting include Organic Recycling System, Hindustan Waste Treatment, 3R Management and Landsky Engineers.
Bids are to be submitted before November 9 for the Rs 200 crore plant.
