Karnataka HC asks BBMP to submit COVID waste-related measures

The Karnataka High Court has directed the Bengaluru civic body (BBMP) to submit measures taken to ensure the segregation of biomedical waste generated from homes where Covid-19 patients are in isolation as well as that generated by dedicated hospitals treating infected people.

The BBMP and the state government have to respond within a week. They have also been told to indicate measures taken to implement Solid Waste Management Rules 2016.
