Adani Cement has unveiled its waste management arm “Geoclean” with a renewed focus on building a circular economy and conserving natural resources.

Formerly known as ‘Geocycle’, Geoclean will have a renewed focus on offering sustainable and innovative waste management solutions. Geoclean targets to increase the Thermal Substitution Rate (TSR) to 30% by 2027 for ACC and Ambuja Cements up from the current average of 6%.

Geoclean has set up 14 co-processing and 6 pre-processing facilities across India equipped with dedicated waste storage areas, feeding arrangements, and laboratories. Facilities are being further scaled up to meet the new targets.

Geoclean has provided solutions for more than 500,000 tons of plastic waste, partnered with more than 20 municipalities, and remediated more than 10 dumpsites across the country. Geoclean has already helped reclaim more than 65 acres of land through its landfill diversion solutions to municipalities. It has a progressive approach driven by footprint expansion of municipal solid waste across key markets leveraging Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and the Smart City campaign and is focusing on further scaling its solutions to municipalities.
