German municipal utility to invest in Tamil Nadu

The German municipal utility of Schwäbisch Hall is planning to fund a pilot energy and water provider project in Tamil Nadu, southern India. This was reported by Energate Messenger. The municipal utility intends to install, amongst others, a biogas plant on the 8-km² campus of the Indian University Gandhigram Rural Institute (GRI), which is the company’s main project partner. The pilot project has been in preparation since 2016 and will be presented on 12 July. It gets financial support by, amongst others, the German Investment Corporation (DEG) and German government-owned bank KfW.
