Plans for Deonar WtE facility proceed

Plans proceed for building a WtE plant in Deonar, a suburb of Mumbai, ‎Maharashtra. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will now carry out a geological survey for a landfill, as the Indian Express reported. The company Renuka Consultants has been appointed as contracter for the survey. As reported in March 2018, 16 bidders have attended the pre-bid meeting and construction is likely to begin this year. Plans provide for two 10 MW WtE plants on a design-build-operate-maintenance basis, each processing 600 to 750 tpy. The technology to be used has not yet been decided. However, the developers will consider one of the six technologies approved by the Union Urban Development Ministry.
