Government cancels Green Clearance notice

In order to boost the faster implementation of new WtE projects all over the country, the Indian government has set aside the Green Clearance regulation, which had been an essential part of the approval process of energy projects before, as reported by The Times of India. The state expects that due to those new rules, the implementation of WtE projects might take around 6 months less in the future. This decision comes as an attempt to comply with the Swachh Bharat initiative, which the government has launched for itself to achieve “full sanitation” by 2019.
