Government further promotes WtE and RDF

Among other environmental measures, the Indian government has announced to aim at further promoting WtE and RDF solutions. Under the newly revised Indian Electricity Act from 2006 (2003), it now became mandatory for the electricity distribution companies of India (DISCOMs) to purchase power from WtE plants. As reported on newsindia123, the generic tariff for power from a WtE plant is USD 0.015 (INR 7.04) per unit and the tariff for power from a plant using RDF amounts to INR 7.9.
