Update on the controversial plans for building a WtE plant at a landfill site in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. As reported by Telegraph India, citizens opposing the plant were asked by India’s National Green Tribunal in New Delhi to file an affidavit by 12 January 12 2018, declaring why they are against the proposal. If the affidavit is not sent in by this date, the plant developer Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation will be granted the approvals. The plant should have a capacity of 192,000 tpy and generate 11 MWel.
