The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) has ordered 194 bulk waste generators (BWGs) in the city, including hotels, restaurants, banquet halls, and other commercial establishments, to construct waste processing facilities in their units in order to comply with the Solid Waste Management (SWM) Rules, 2016. These units produce 50kg or more of waste every day.

The BWGs have been asked to sort the waste into dry, moist, hazardous, and biomedical categories. The civic body had already sent notices to these BWGs and is organizing meetings and workshops to facilitate the process, reports The Times of India.
