The Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG), Mr PC Meena, has asked civic body officials to provide daily updates on waste processing on the MCG website. He also said that the capacity of the material recovery facilities (MRFs) should be expanded.

To ensure that bulk waste generators (BWGs) are following the 2016 Solid Waste Management Rules, a weekly report should be provided. Challans will be issued to BWGs who violate the rules.

The number of vehicles transporting leachate from Bandhwari to sewage treatment facilities should be increased, PC Meena further stated. Also, the commissioner gave instructions to the staff to speed up Bandhwari’s legacy waste treatment procedure, reports The Times of India.

At Bandhwari, a new processing facility has been set up with a daily capability to process 2,000 tonnes of legacy garbage.
