The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has directed waste concessionaire Ecogreen Energy to set up four material recovery facilities (MRFs), one in each zone of the city.

The MCG commissioner Mr Mukesh Ahuja has said land will be provided at the earliest to Ecogreen for the facilities.

The city already has four waste collection and sorting centres. The waste collected will be segregated, composted and inert will be sent to Bandhwari from MRFs for further processing, reports The Times of India.

The civic body has also asked Ecogreen to ensure that no mixed waste is collected from any household. The MCG implemented segregated waste collection in the city last week.
