The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) is working towards the bio-remediation and reclamation of landfill area at Bandhwari. The site will be cleared at an estimated Rs 16 crore within a month. It will then be used by Ecogreen Energy to set up a Waste to Energy plant, reports The Times of India.

The Bandhwari landfill is spread over 30 acres of land and Ecogreen has been given 10 acres for the WtE plant.

The landfill site is owned by the Municipal Corporation of Faridabad (MCF) and the site has been used for open dumping of solid waste since 2010.
