GVMC to sign WtE agreement

The Greater Visakhaptanam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) is said to sign a concessionaire agreement regarding the development of a WtE plant with company Jindal Infrastructure Transportation Fabrication (JITF). This is contrary to earlier sources, which said infrastructure company IL&FS to be GVMC’s project partner. According to The Times of India, the project’s planned generation capacity amounts to 15 MW. Investment was now said to amount to INR 1.35 billion (USD 19.87 million), while the planned location would be the village of Gidijala, Andapruam Mandal. Around 1,000 tpd of waste is generated within GVMC’s area.
