Hallam Energy plans WtE plant in New Delhi

According to Sheffield Hallam University, its research and consultancy group Hallam Energy considers to cooperate with the Indian government to set up a WtE plant in New Delhi. Hallam Energy undertook a feasibility study for the project to outline possible sites and the required technology. The plant should treat a third of New Delhi’s waste (4,000 tpd) and generate 32 MW of power. The whole project is part of India’s GBP 68 million Waste-to-Energy plan. Although the plans for the incinerator are not approved yet, the director of Hallam Energy hopes to complete the project until 2020-2021. Hallom Energy was engaged by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), which is undertaking the project. This was reported by Waste Management World.
