The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has revealed its earnings from composting in the last three months: Rs 1.59 lakh. The income was generated through the sale of compost generated at the Bhandewadi dumping yard.

In March this year, NMC had appointed Shree Sai Bio Organic on a trial basis for producing compost from wet waste. NMC is treating only 150-200MT waste for preparing compost here.

The firm is supposed to pay Rs 100 per MT from the sale of compost to the NMC. In the first three months of this fiscal, Shree Sai Bio Organic paid Rs 1.59 lakh to NMC as its share towards the sale of compost generated at Bhandewadi, reports The Times of India.
