The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has announced that alternative dump sites for Jawaharnagar are being prepared in and around the city. These include Dundigal, Pyaranagar village in Medak’s Jinnaram mandal, and Yacharam in Rangareddy district.

The Dundigal plant is expected to be commissioned by the end of April, while the Pyaranagar site is delayed due to the translocation of trees. The Yacharam site is scheduled to be completed in one year, subject to government approval for increased project capacity.

The National Green Tribunal has directed GHMC to closely monitor and expedite these processes, adhere to the deadline, and obtain reports from the expert committee constituted by the Central Pollution Control Board and IIT Bombay, reports The Times of India.
