Ecogreen, the solid waste management concessionaire of the city, has written to MCG commissioner PC Meena requesting the release of pending payments of Rs 58.9 crore. Ecogreen has threatened to stop door-to-door waste collection and transportation in Gurgaon and Faridabad from the coming week if the payment is not made. However, MCG officials claim that they have already made relevant payments to Ecogreen as per their agreement, and if the waste collection stops, alternative arrangements will be made. The civic body is also exploring the possibility of engaging a new agency for solid waste management in the city, reports The Times Of India.
