Hyderabad to get over 1300 auto-tippers

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has decided to procure 1,350 Swachh Auto Tippers (SATs) to pick up waste from households.

The GHMC has invited requests for a proposal to supply and deliver 1,350 SATs under the driver-cum-owner (DCO) scheme for door-to-door collection and transportation of municipal solid waste (MSW). All the SATs will be fitted with a public-address system (PAS) and an integrated GPS equipment with geo-fencing and software solution for a period of six years, reports The New Indian Express.

Critics of the GHMC claim that the civic body needs to double the existing number of SATs, which were last purchased in 2015 and are now in a state of disrepair.
