According to Bloomberg, plans for a new WtE plant in Hyderabad, state of Telangana, seem to move forward. Indian company Sri Venkateswara Green Power Projects Ltd. has recently acquired a majority share of 51% of the EUR 26.7 million WtE project. Moreover, the firm has already come to an agreement with the Telangana government over the purchase of the electricity produced at the future WtE facility. In a press statement, the company announced that the intake capacity of the WtE plant will amount to 700 tpd of waste (224,000 tpy), while the electricity generation capacity will be 12 MW. In accordance with this, the Telangana government will purchase electricity from the Hyderabad plant for the next 20 years.
