The Indian Biogas Association (IBA) has announced to have received investment commitments for biogas plants worth a total of INR 14 billion (EUR 172.41 million) during the event Renewable Energy India Expo 2022.
About 60 applications to set up new biogas plants were received. Most of them are proposed in Uttar Pradesh, followed by Punjab.
The IBA stated it is expecting the number of biogas plants in India to increase by at least 500 in the next 2 to 3 years.
