New RDF plants in Hyderabad to be ready by December 2024

According to a new source, the five new RDF plants planned by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Telangana, are all to be operational by the end of 2024. Currently, there is only one plant operational, located at the Jawaharnagar landfill. This plant generates 24 MW.

The new projects include the expansion of this plant by 24 MW. Furthermore, they include a 15 MW plant in Dindigul, a 15 MW plant in Pyaranagar, a 12 MW plant in Yacharam, and a 11 MW plant in Bibinagar.

The Dindigul project is scheduled to be operational in July 2023, the other projects are to be ready in December 2024. Altogether, the facilities should process 5,100 tpd of RDF and generate 101 MW.
