Indian railways to invest in WtE

As reported by The Hindu, the Union Minister of Railways announced plans to build further WtE plants at railway stations, based on the current project at the New Delhi railway station, that shall go operational in June 2017. In sum, Indian railways want to save USD 6.3 billion by using renewable energy sources such as WtE, solar power and wind power units. The minister says that USD 615 million have already been saved, since the use of renewable energy has increased.
