INR 175 crore MNRE research programme will be continued

Following a decision by the President, the Renewable Energy Research and Technology Development (RETD) programme will be continued into 2020. As reported by Mercom India, the programme is managed by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and has a total budget of INR 175 crores. Research and development in WtE and biogas systems will also be promoted by the programme. While academic and non-profit research organisations proposals may be eligible for 100% financial support, private research proposals are capped at 50%.
