Inspections at Bhalswa and Ghazipur landfill sites

A committee led by the urban development secretary inspected the landfills of Bhalswa, Delhi region and Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. According to The Times of India, the inspection was directed by the National Green Tribunal in order to investigate the causes of fire on the sites. The result of the inspection was the huge amount of methane gas generated. According to the inspecting committee, a WtE plant is necessary to reduce the load on landfill sites.
