Narela-Bawana plant officially inaugurated

According to The Hindu, the Narela-Bawana WtE plant in Delhi has been officially inaugurated. With a capacity of 24 MW, the facility is the country’s largest WtE plant now. After many delays and an intervention by the National Green Tribunal (NGT) last December, overall costs for construction eventually amounted to USD 69 million. The plant will process up to 2,000 metric tons of waste daily, but would even be able to handle 4,000 tons per day, if necessary.
