The proposed WtE project in the city of Jaipur, whose tender had been finalised 1.5 years ago, has still not been realised, according to DNA. The plant is going to be carried out on a public-private partnership (PPP) base. The investments for the project amount to EUR 24.7 million (INR 182 crore) and the facility is going to generate 7.5 MW of electricity. According to the source, there are currently 1,400 metric tons of waste being produced per day in Jaipur. Of this, the municipal corporation, which plans to set up the WtE plant, is only processing 500 tpd.
