Karnataka to implement strict e-waste policy

To ensure that electronic waste is managed in an organized way, the Karnataka state government is working on a strict separate policy. The new policy is supposed to be implemented as soon as possible, as further reported. An audit of waste management is the overall goal, from recycling to the use of electronic materials.

Bengaluru is the third-largest producer of e-waste in India, according to the source. About 120,000 tpy of electronic waste are generated annually in the so-called “IT city”. As also reported in the current source, Bengaluru has 200 recycling centers for e-waste.
