Kerala Government plans establishment of seven WtE plants

For the implementation of its “Urban Solid Waste Management Initiative (USWMI)” the government of Kerala has earmarked INR 20 million (EUR 250,000) for waste management projects, as reported by The Times of India. The government approved setting up 5MW waste-to-energy plants at seven locations in the state. The project will be implemented in a design, build, operate and transfer model through public-private partnership. The project activities will be coordinated by Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation. The cooperation has begun activities for floating of request for proposal.
