KMC to install landfill gas system at Dhapa landfill site

The Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) has announced plans for a new AD plant for producing biogas and organic fertilisers. The site should be built at Dhapa, which is Kolkata’s dumping ground. As further reported by All India Trinamool Congress, the facility would initially start as a pilot project. Feedstock should be collected from several larger landfill sites, including Jodhpur Park and Lansdowne Market. For setting up the project, Rs 5 crore (INR 50 million or EUR 655,000) would be needed, a first tranche of which has reportedly been provided already.
