According to The Hindu, the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) has recently signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Kochi-based GJ Eco Power, the company implementing the Brahmapuram WtE plant. According to the agreement, KSEB will purchase all the power generated from the 9.76 MW WtE plant at a rate of INR 6.17 per unit for a period of 20 years. The proposed plant will generate power from waste using gasification technology. It is planned to be commissioned within 18 months after commencement of construction.
