The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) and East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) have founded a joint venture (JV) towards the establishment of a WtE plant. According to the source, Mercom India, the WtE facility will utilise municipal solid waste from EDMC and various other zones. The location of the project, which will be set up on a build-own-operate (BOO) basis, is yet to be determined by the EDMC.
