The Noida authority has identified a permanent landfill site in Dostpur Mangraui village, facing sectors 162 and 164 between the Yamuna checkdam and the DFCC corridor that is under construction.
The project proposal has been sent to the Gautam Budh Nagar magistrate for approval as the site fulfills all criteria under the solid waste management (SWM) rules and is about 500 meters away from any habitation and the Yamuna river. Most of the land is currently agricultural and authorities expect that the area will mainly have industries and farmhouses in the future as well, reports The Times of India.
