The Delhi Municipal Cooperation has tightened its law on waste management, according to a report by India Today. Part of the law termed ‘Solid Waste Management (SWM) by-laws of NCT of Delhi’ will impose a fine of EUr 1,200 on industrial units which do not replace their current fuel, either petrol, diesel, CNG or PNG with refuse-derived fuel (RDF). This will encourage companies producing RDF from waste which have been facing issues on sale of their output leading to accumulation of losses.
