Monthly user charges for SWM announced in Pimpri-Chinchwad

The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation in India will levy monthly user charges on households and commercial spaces for waste collection and disposal, in accordance with Solid Waste Management Rules, 2019. The charges will be between Rs 60 and Rs 200 per month for households and commercial spaces, respectively. The charges, beginning this fiscal year, will amount to Rs 720 per home annually. The municipality expects to collect around Rs 36 crore every year from the charges to help cover its waste management costs, reports The Indian Express.
