MoU to be signed for Surat WtE facility

As The Times of India reported, the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) and the local civic body will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for setting up a WtE facility in Hazira, Surat. The plant will be able to process around 1,000 tonnes of waste daily, and therefore relieve Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC), which is currently managing the waste. The facility will be owned and operated by NTPC, while SMC will deliver the RDF.
