The Department of Biotechnology, a part of India’s Ministry of Science and Technology, has issued a Call for Proposals (CfP) for projects generating power from waste material. This does not only include WtE, but also RDF production, pyrolysis, biogas generation and composting. Apparently, the CfP only relates to demonstration projects, which could be set up as PPP developments under India’s Swachh Bharat urban sanitation scheme. According to Waste Management World, aim of the move is to develop processes that are economically viable at Indian market conditions.
