Plans for the construction of a biogas plant in the area of Kishanganj, Bihar state, have been given approval under the Gobar Dhan biogas support scheme.

According to the source, the plant was initially planned to be set up in Mahingaon, but due to protests from local residents, the project has now been moved to Halamala. Once realised, the plant should process cattle dung. It should first be started as a pilot project and, if successful, also adopted in other districts.
