New Waste to Energy plant being set up at Deonar landfill

A WtE plant is currently being set up at the Deonar landfill in Mumbai, Maharashtra. As further reported, the 360 tpd facility is being set up by Waste Management Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Re Sustainability.

According to the report, turnkey contractor is Pune-based company Uttamenergy Limited, while ownership and operation will remain with Re Sustainability. Uttamenergy is holding a TEPC contract (technology, engineering, procurement and construction).

More than 90% of the plant components would be manufactured in India, as further stated. The source does not comment on the exact time schedule of this project.
