New legislation for scrap plastic in cement kilns

According to Global Cem Fuels, India wants to increase the use of scrap plastic in cement kilns. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has proposed a roadmap for implementing the new rules. It also wants to make manufacturers responsible for collecting waste generated from their products. 15,000 t of plastic waste are believed to be generated daily in the country but only 9,000 t of these are collected and processed.
