New tender for Dehradun MBT plant

The Dehradun Municipal Corporation (DMC), state of Uttarakhand, is in the process of re-tendering a proposed waste treatment plant, which is planned to include RDF production, a recycling line and a composting unit. The first tender process, held in December 2014, was cancelled as fewer bidders participated than required by a Supreme Court rule. However, DMC has now gained permission to employ different tender rules, which is expected to solve the problem. The project was first proposed in 2008, but did not receive clearance from Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF) until 2014. This was reported by The Times of India.
