New WtE plant for Visakhapatnam

The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation has released a plan to build a new WtE plant within the district of Visakhapatnam, the New Indian Express reports. Before starting to construct the new compound, the local government wants to promote waste segregation among the residents to simplify waste collection. In addition to that, the region wants to strengthen the focus on composting in the future. According to the Municipal Commissioner, construction works at the 17 MW plant have already begun. In the past months, early plans for a WtE project have already been revived due to the pressure of the state government of Andhra Pradesh.
