New WtE plant planned for Indirapuram and Galand

The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has commenced preparation of a detailed project report (DPR) for a proposed Waste-to-Energy (WtE) plant in Indirapuram, according to the Hindustan Times. The plant, which is planned to be located opposite a landfill site in Knawani, will be developed as a build-operate-transfer (BOT) project. According to the report, the GDA will provide land to the private company willing to take up the project. Furthermore, about 18 acres of land has been secured for establishing a WtE plant in Galand. The facility is expected to treat between 1,000 to 1,200 tpd of waste.
