The National Green Tribunal has ordered the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) and Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) to take remedial action against the three waste-to-energy plants in Ghazipur, Okhla and Narela-Bawana.

The CPCB had found violations at the three plants during an audit, before giving its recommendations to NGT.
Significantly, the NGT said that the CPCB can use its experience with the waste-to-energy plants in Delhi for similar action elsewhere in India, especially metro cities.

The Times of India reports that the remedial action ranges from improving ambient air quality to processing waste as per the consented capacity and optimising the production process through improved facilities.
