NGT to rule on Okhla WtE plant

According to The Times of India, India’s National Green Tribunal (NGT) is set to rule on the issue whether the Okhla WTE facility operates within its legal requirements. The lawsuit was filed by local residents, who claim that the facility violates emission standards and want the plant to cease operations. However, recent studies are indicating that the facility now meets legal standards, despite having breached emission limits in the past. Nevertheless, NGT criticised Delhi’s municipal corporations for allegedly submitting incorrect data about the waste sorting processes at the WtE site.
