Editor According to media reports, the 8 MW Brahmapuram WtE project has still not taken of. The plant is developed by GJ Eco Power Pvt Ltd on behalf of the Kochi Municipal Corporation (KMC). As said, not a single one of the 21 permits needed to start construction has been obtained so far, which seems to be partly due to a change in local government. The responsible regulators are the district administration, the Ministry of Environment and Forests and the state of Kerala’s Pollution Control Board (PCB). GJ stated that plant construcion would be completed within two years once the necessary permits have been obtained.
