NTPC to start co-firing biomass at Dadri plant

According to the Economic Times, Indian public utility NTPC has released a tender for the procurement of 1,000 metric tons per day of agricultural residues-based fuel for its 2,650 MW Dadri Power Plant. The facility consists of a coal-fired plant (1820 MW) and a gas-fired plant (830 MW). 500 metric tons of the daily 1,000 metric tons should be pellets, the other half torrefied pellets or briquettes. NTPC seeks supply for 2 years and the cap price amounts to EUR 70 for the pellets and EUR 84 for the torrefied pellets or briquettes. Delivery should start in September 2018.
