Okhla WtE facility served with notice

The company operating the Okhla WtE plant has been served with a show-cause notice to explain “why its Environmental Clearance (EC) granted in 2007 should not be kept in abeyance”, The Hindustan Times reports. After a number of violations to the Clearance were found during an inspection in December 2018, including the pollution load and the construction of chimneys without permission, the Okhla Waste Management Company Pvt Ltd now has 15 days to respond to the notice.
